Stakeholder Council
These organisations are the heavy lifters. They volunteer their time and expertise because they care about .eco and want to make sure it really is by and for the planet.
We call them the ".eco Stakeholder Council", but you should call them true eco-heroes, because in our experience of working with them over the past year, they really are. We've asked them to do four things for .eco:
- Ensure the .eco rules are built in a responsible, global, and open way,
- Provide expert guidance,
- Identify people we should talk to, and
- Review draft .eco rules and agree on a first set.
Council participants engage with dot eco on behalf of their organisations. They are not required to endorse dot eco, Big Room, or the policies under development.
The council operates via a terms of reference that has been considered and agreed by all participants.
It is independently facilitated by the Meridian Institute and currently chaired by WWF International.
