On Wednesday Oct 21, 2009, Big Room Inc. and Incite Sustainability hosted a Dot Eco consultation in Cape Town, South Africs. The report (pdf) from the event has been published today. An outline of the event is here.

Representatives from the public, private and non-profit sectors came together to learn about Dot Eco's policies and system in constructive and wide-ranging debate.

Paul Clements-Hunt, Head of the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative, provided some welcoming remarks. Jacob Malthouse, Co-founder of Big Room Inc. then gave an overview of Big Room's vision for Dot Eco and proposed policies for the domain.

The plenary then broke out into roundtable discussions, which included discussion of the below questions, amongst others:   

• What are some of the major environmental and sustainability challenges in South Africa?
• How could .eco work best to address some of these?
• How can we make .eco useful to you as a company, non-profit, government agency or individual?
