Stakeholders gathered at  to help shape policy for Big Room’s dot eco generic top level domain (gTLD). The workshop aimed to tap into the international and expert group participants. The objectives for the workshop were to.

1. Explore how new and existing disclosure and data initiatives may be designed for integration, standardization, compatibility, interoperability and quality assurance.

2. Identify key issues, opportunities and challenges around developing dot eco policies

3. Discuss how and why IT innovations can improve the relevance and usability of information for different stakeholders worldwide

The event covered a broad range of topics, including:

Accuracy and Accountability: Questions were raised about backsliding, scoring mechanisms, and localisation. 

Role of the Foundation: Issues highlighted included donor dependency, how users could direct funding, and the digital divide. 

Names: Support for allocating premium names based on use plans and small organisations doing exceptional work.
